University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust probeerde hun groeiende wachtlijsten aan te pakken door te investeren in een chirurgische oplossing met extra capaciteit.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Het plan<\/h3>\n<p>Als onderdeel van het Devon Accelerator Programme heeft de Trust financiering verkregen om hun chirurgische capaciteit te vergroten via het nationale NHS Elective Recovery Fund. Het plan omvatte de verhuizing van bestaande oogheelkundige operatiekamers van verdieping 7 in het hoofdgebouw van het ziekenhuis in Derriford naar de speciaal gebouwde faciliteit, waardoor er extra ruimte in het hoofdgebouw ontstond.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De Q-bital-oplossing<\/h3>\n<p>Q-bital Healthcare Solutions ontwierp, bouwde en installeerde een mixed-modality Healthcare Spaces-oplossing, bestaande uit twee mobiele\u00a0<a href=\"\/nl_nl\/facilities\/operating-rooms\/\">operatiekamers<\/a>\u00a0en een verbindende modulaire ondersteuningshub om extra capaciteit te bieden in het Derriford Hospital. De oplossing is ontworpen door Q-bital in samenwerking met klinische teams van het Derriford Hospital om ervoor te zorgen dat de faciliteit precies voldeed aan de unieke behoeften van het ziekenhuis en degenen die erin werken.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.q-bital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/06\/IMG_0152-768x576-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-423\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.q-bital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/06\/IMG_0152-768x576-1.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.q-bital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/06\/IMG_0152-768x576-1-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.q-bital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/06\/IMG_0152-768x576-1-16x12.jpeg 16w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>De faciliteit werd in augustus 2021 ge\u00efnstalleerd en is 5 dagen per week operationeel, waardoor een groter aantal keuzeprocedures kan plaatsvinden.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De uitkomst<\/h3>\n<p>De faciliteit is van essentieel belang geweest bij het bieden van levensveranderende oogheelkundige behandelingen aan pati\u00ebnten in Plymouth en de omliggende gebieden, waarbij een reeks oftalmologische procedures werd uitgevoerd, waaronder cataract, dacrocystorhinostomie, ectropion en ooglidcorrectie. Naast andere procedures worden er dagelijks ongeveer 14 cataractprocedures uitgevoerd en worden er 8-10 vitrecomie\u00ebn per week uitgevoerd.<\/p>\n<p>De Trust heeft veel succes geboekt bij het wegwerken van hun chirurgische achterstand door de introductie van de Q-bital-oplossing en als gevolg daarvan is het contract met nog eens drie maanden verlengd.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De pati\u00ebntervaring<\/h3>\n<p>Bovendien heeft de op maat gemaakte chirurgische oplossing geholpen bij het cre\u00ebren van positieve pati\u00ebntresultaten, zoals uitgelegd door \u00e9\u00e9n pati\u00ebnt&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ymcfphpLoPE\">hier<\/a>. Sous-chef Mark Cawley maakte deel uit van een vroege cohort pati\u00ebnten die in de nieuwe modulaire faciliteit werden behandeld en was vol lof over zijn zorg: \u201cIk was twee weken blind en dat was echt eng, dus ik kon niets anders doen dan prijs de NS. Ik kan niet geloven dat ik kan zien, en als je geen zicht hebt, begrijpen mensen binnen het grote publiek eigenlijk niet hoe eng het is. Maar nu kan ik lezen en werken, ik kan menu&#039;s schrijven, ik kan menu&#039;s lezen. Ik ga met een grote glimlach naar binnen en mensen snappen het niet omdat ze er niet zijn geweest. Ik zeg tegen elke man en zijn hond: raad eens? NHS is geweldig\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Maxine Lawson, Accountmanager bij Q-bital, zei: &quot;De chirurgische oplossing met gemengde modaliteiten die in het Derriford Hospital is gestationeerd, bleek een perfecte oplossing om effici\u00ebnt en nauwkeurig en tijdig aan de behoeften van de Trust te voldoen. Covid-19 heeft NHS Trusts in het hele land voor talloze uitdagingen gesteld, maar de introductie van de Q-bital-faciliteit is essentieel gebleken om de achterstand in de oogheelkunde in het Derriford Hospital aan te pakken.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Tomas Cudrnak, klinisch directeur oogheelkunde, zei: &quot;We ondervonden een probleem met de operatiekamercapaciteit in het hele ziekenhuis, waardoor het aantal sessies dat we op onze vorige locatie per week konden aanbieden, daalde van 20 naar 14.
