Projektet utformades med ambitionen att ut\u00f6ka kapaciteten och g\u00f6ra det m\u00f6jligt f\u00f6r kirurger att forts\u00e4tta att s\u00e4kert utf\u00f6ra rutinprocedurer och effektivt hantera eftersl\u00e4pningen inom elektiv v\u00e5rd.<\/p>\n<p>Vanguard, som f\u00f6rstod den akuta efterfr\u00e5gan p\u00e5 anl\u00e4ggningen, utvecklade ett f\u00f6rslag och en skr\u00e4ddarsydd design f\u00f6r stiftelsen inom bara 10 dagar och arbetade tillsammans med yrkesverksamma f\u00f6r att s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lla att anl\u00e4ggningen skulle tillgodose deras behov och f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntningar, b\u00e5de som sjukv\u00e5rdspersonal och som m\u00e4nniskor. Med hj\u00e4lp av moderna konstruktionsmetoder (MMC) kunde Vanguard montera anl\u00e4ggningen p\u00e5 under fyra m\u00e5nader, vilket gjorde det m\u00f6jligt att slutf\u00f6ra operationer i centrum fr\u00e5n juni 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Modulbyggnaden, som m\u00f6jligg\u00f6r cirka 120 ingrepp i veckan, har fyra dedikerade, h\u00f6gkvalitativa operationssalar, ett uppvakningsomr\u00e5de och mottagningsrum, samt ytterligare utrymme f\u00f6r personalutrymmen och tv\u00e4ttutrymmen. N\u00e4r navet \u00f6ppnar f\u00f6r att st\u00f6dja verksamheten alla veckans dagar f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntas det kunna utf\u00f6ra 10 000 kirurgiska ingrepp per \u00e5r till patienter fr\u00e5n v\u00e5rdhem i sydv\u00e4stra London.<\/p>\n<p>Navet i Roehampton fokuserar p\u00e5 h\u00f6g volym, l\u00e5g komplexitet, dagprocedurer och ger kapacitet f\u00f6r patienter att f\u00e5 st\u00f6d innan deras tillst\u00e5nd f\u00f6rv\u00e4rras och de kr\u00e4ver mer intensiv, kr\u00e4vande operation som annars skulle f\u00f6rv\u00e4rra b\u00f6rdan f\u00f6r NHS. Skapandet av det kirurgiska centrumet bidrog ocks\u00e5 till att minska konkurrensen om operationssalar och d\u00e4rmed skapa tillg\u00e4nglighet f\u00f6r mer komplexa h\u00f6griskprocedurer som kan utf\u00f6ras p\u00e5 andra platser i regionen.<\/p>\n<p>Ut\u00f6ver att tillhandah\u00e5lla kapacitet f\u00f6r v\u00e4lbeh\u00f6vliga kirurgiska ingrepp, fungerar navet ocks\u00e5 som ett utrymme f\u00f6r att utbilda dem som led av f\u00f6rlust av utbildning under pandemin, vilket hj\u00e4lper till att st\u00f6dja den bredare NHS-arbetsstyrkan i efterdyningarna av pandemin.<\/p>\n<p>Den modul\u00e4ra karakt\u00e4ren hos kirurgiska anl\u00e4ggningar \u2013 som den i Roehampton \u2013 prioriterar flexibilitet, vilket inneb\u00e4r att navet kan svara p\u00e5 f\u00f6r\u00e4ndrade krav och lokala behov.
